The Lettuce Butterhead Speckles, \’Lactuca sativa\’, is an Heirloom that originated from the Mennonites who brought it with them from Germany and Holland over 200 years ago. Make a salad with Speckles lettuce and no one will notice if there are bugs in it. The unusual speckling of these mild, tender, thick but soft leaves will add visual interest to any salad. Speckles is rarely bitter and is quick maturing. They will grow in light shade. Lettuce grows well near cabbage, beets, carrots, chives, garlic, and onion.

Pink Glow Celosia

The Celosia Pink Glow, \’Celosia plumosa\’, also known as Cockscomb, is one of the most colorful foliage plants for beds, borders, pots, planters and window boxes. The Pink Glow has bright plumes that crown the dwarf, 9 to 11 inch tall plants with excellent branching. They exhibit a well matched and compact uniform habit. Pink Glow is a great garden performer. Like all Celosia plumosa, the flowers can be cut and dried for long lasting homemade bouquets. This plant is vigorous and is an excellent performer. As with all celosias, Pink Glow performs best in the full sun.

The Yarrow, `Coronation Gold\’ , Achillea ageratifolia, is an upright golden-yellow flowered Yarrow that blooms from June through September, providing excellent color throughout the summer months. With fern-like aromatic, silvery to gray-green foliage, it is considered to be one of the best yarrows in any landscape. The foliage has a somewhat strong, spicy aroma, which persists when used in dried arrangements. For an attraction to butterflies, deer and rabbit resistant, one can\’t go wrong with this plant.

Fortune Large Cupped Daffodil

The Daffodil \’Fortune\’, \’Narcissi large-cupped\’, a fall planted bulb, is a bright Daffodil that is long-lasting, and produces large yellow flowers with soft orange cups. The blossoms last up to 4 weeks and appear in mid spring. They are great for mass plantings, containers, and borders. If necessary, very large clumps of bulbs can be lifted as soon as the leaves wither, and then they can be divided and replanted as soon as possible. After flowering, let the leaves yellow before cutting them back. The plants are deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant.
